Special events and Celebrations

Sparkles is for the adventurous amongst you. Whether it is a sixtieth birthday or an engagement party if you have a twinkle in you heart we can put a sparkle in you eye!

Either a beautiful romantic room for an anniversary or the entire hotel for a company Christmas celebration, whatever you have in mind, a celebration package can be yours at the asking.

Live entertainment, a birthday party or a disco/karaoke can be arranged. Let your dreams become a reality for that very special occasion. If it is a discreet service you wish for, so that the element of surprise adds to the fun, do not hesitate to ask. Mrs. Sparkle can be the dry cleaners, or your hairdresser - your secret will be safe with us.

As well as the above, children's activities come as part of the package when you book a room at Sparkles. Breakfast hour is between 8.30 and 10.00. We whisk your children off for a fun packed hour which includes games in the Sparkles Den - currently a soft play area - and concludes with naughty puppets twisting those traditional nursery rhymes into lots of laughter. Children under three must be accompanied by parents but even the most hesitant child looses their inhibitions when faced with larger than life Mrs. Sparkle. With twenty years experience as a teacher Mrs. Sparkle has yet to find a child who doesn’t want to co-operate. Perhaps the lollys and prizes help this along, but we believe that happy children make for a happy break.

The only time we see a tear,
Is when we say goodbye for another year.

Four themed breakfast's are now on offer.
The Fresh and Fruity
Consists of:- Selection of fresh fruit or fresh fruit salad, orange juice, a wide selection of cereals, toast and or croissants, preserves and butter, freshly ground coffee, tea or fruit teas.

*(Minimum 2 persons) The second theme breakfast is very naughty but nice…..!
The Celebration Chocoholic Breakfast
Whether you are celebrating something special, or the fact that this is the first breakfast for ages since you have had breakfast on your own, this one will need a good long walk after to burn off the calories. It consists of:-

Real Cadbury's Dairymilk Chocolate fondue, with a selection of freshly prepared"dipping fruit" strawberries, pineapple, bananas etc.
A selection of chocolate cerials, served with either chocolate milk or semi-skimmed.
Croissants with chocolate spread or chocolate mini croissants.
Hot Chocolate with or without whipped cream and a flake
A £5 supplement is added to your bill for this breakfast, and a minimum order of two breakfasts must be ordered at time of booking.

*(Minimum 2 persons) Smoke salmon platter breakfast. All the contents of the Fresh and Fruity plus smoked salmon, an individual pot of cream cheese and as many bagels as you can eat.

*The Full Monty. The Fresh and Fruity breakfast plus cold meats, a selection of cheeses and hard boiled eggs prepared the Dutch way.

(* there is a surcharge of £16 per couple for the chocoholic and Smoke salmon platter, and an £20 per couple surcharge for the Full Monty Continential)

Children's Breakfast Hour starts at 8.30. am and concludes at 10.00am. During this time Mrs Sparkle supervises the children while they are eating their breakfast (over three's, under ten's) then when they have finished they go downstairs to the Ball Pool for thirty minutes to play games such as "Stepping Stones" and "Snowman". They then return to the Cinderella Lounge to have fun with the Puppets.

Adults may have their breakfast anytime from 9am until 9.45am. Alternatively, if they have dining facilities in their room, breakfast can be brought up on a tray.

The Cinderella lounge is the room where children can play happily with the toys provided for them - Brio train sets / lego / Barbie's etc. while the parents enjoy a drink. We do ask that children allow parents a little time on their own and for the comfort of everyone ask that children vacate the lounge by 10.30pm - unless a private party / function is in progress.

Panto hour from 8.30pm sees Mrs. Sparkle as a Storyteller often telling the story on two levels. In this way the children and parents alike delight in the traditional panto stories often, with a twist in the tail! Mrs Sparkle, a qualified teacher with twenty years in the profession, uses her training and expertise to charm and delight all those ready to sit down and listen. For special Birthday's, children stories are often adapted to include your childs name so that it really is a special story just for them.

For those parents who wish for a quiet evening without the charming demands of the children, baby-sitting can be provided and is bookable in advance. The sitter will play games with your children until story-time, prepare them for bed after, then stay in their room to occupy them while they drift off into dreams of "did Red Riding Hood really shoot the wolf!"
